Crawford Climbing Back . . .
|
Tony Stewart has been
doing a great job in the No 2
Crawford SSC2K and double stinting the car, moved back up to 11th
place after the earlier battery problems.
When the car made its
third pit stop, team boss Max Crawford decided to keep the Winston Cup ace in
the car. The car had fresh tyres and fuel and was back in the race in 51
seconds.
At the front of the
field the battle between the Jim Matthews Riley and Scott driven by Scott Sharp
and the Risi Ferrari of David Brabham continued to lap within feet of each other
as they contested the lead.
With the race three
and a quarter hours old the No2 car was back in the top ten.
At the same mark
Scott Sharp had moved ahead of the Ferrari, the Jon Field/Duncan Dayton/Mike
Durand/Rick Sutherland Intersport Lola was battling for third place with the
Dyson R &S of EFR/Rob Dyson/Chris Dyson/ Dorsey Schroeder.
