Running fourth just passed 1/3rd race
distance...

The Crawford
SSC2K of Jan Lammers, Tony Stewart and Johnny Mowlem now established in
fourth place with the race just passing the one third distance mark.
After his long
double stint Mowlem reported that the car is now working well and the brake
problems have been solved. Tony Stewart is now at the wheel, not exactly racing
in the night for the first time, as he has done that many times at short ovals
but certainly road racing at night for the first time.
Reported Mowlem,
“Until the brakes were bled it was really difficult. I still don’t feel at
home the way it would in a Porsche but we’re getting there”
The current leader
is the Dallara of Theys/Leinhard/Papis/Baldi two laps ahead of the essentially
gentleman driver group of Jon Field/Mike Durand/Duncan Dayton/Rick Sutherland in
the Lola-Judd
The Ascari-Judd,
racing outside Europe for the first time, is third another three laps down –
drivers Werner Lupberger/TJ Bell/Harri Toivonen. The Crawford is 4th
ten laps down on the leader.
