Crawford Composites supplied
the Formula SAE Team of NCSU with the materials and the facility
to construct a complete autoclaved carbon fiber chassis.
The members of the SAE team provided all the labor, while Max
and Jan Crawford and Toby McCall provided consultation and
instruction when needed. The SAE team have now constructed
their second chassis at our facility, with less help this year
utilizing the skills they learned with the last build.

Aerospace Engineering |
As a part
of the NCSU requirement for a degree in Aerospace Engineering students must
complete a senior design course. The course puts what the students have
learned to a practical test. Not only must they design a plane must they
must also build and fly the plane. Crawford Composites decided to the help
the teams of the 2001 graduating class in their endeavor. Machining of
molds was accomplished in concert with Bret Conway of Performance Research.
Crawford Composites donated materials, and expertise in the field.
